ABC Run/Walk #165 Report

ABC Run #165 on August 21 was a success with $980 donated to Seedling Theatre thanks to the generosity of everyone involved. Thanks much to:
(a) Laurel & Larry Schumacher for being awesome hosts at their home.
(b) 30 attendees that donated a total of $980.
(c) Sharri Pelarske and Laurel Schumacher, for donating homemade preserves for our drawing. I also donated a few jars of Meg’s chokecherry jelly for the drawing.
(e) Seedling Theatre for donating tickets to an upcoming performance for our drawing.
(h) everyone who brought food! I don’t recall who all brought food, but I’m sure Laurel Schumacher made the biscuits & sausage gravy, Lisa Sparks made “Meg’s coffee cake”, and Donna Anhalt brought fruit & snacks.

Seedling Theatre is
a wonderful theatrical program for children & young adults & adults with disabilities, as well as their able bodied peers. We have completed twelve ABC runs for Seedling Theatre, generating total donations of $13,630. ABC runs have been Seedling’s major source of donations which has helped them to purchase sound equipment, pay copyright fees, give small honorariums to staff, and much more. Thanks a million to everyone for all the support.

Donna Anhalt, the Seedling Theatre director, is deeply touched by the outpouring of support for Seedling. Before we ran, she took a couple minutes to express her sincere thanks and to tell us a little about Seedling Theatre and their upcoming performance of “All Together Now.”

After the run, we had plenty of time to enjoy socializing and dine on the excellent variety of food available. We also held the drawing for the door prizes but my memory doesn’t serve me well enough to accurately report who won each prize. I believe Rich Beal and Pat Sheridan each won a set of tickets to Seedling’s performances of “All Together Now” which will be held November 12, 13, and 14. For more information and if you know of anyone interested in joining their cast, please email Donna Anhalt at seedling@illinoisvoicestheatre.org.

A great time was had by all. Hope to see you at the next ABC run which will be held on the first Sunday in October to benefit Heartland Head Start.
